ABOUT THE MBC
The Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is a public service broadcaster and is the principal medium for the dissemination of information, education and entertainment programmes in Mauritius and its outer islands.
MISSION
As a national public broadcasting service, the MBC broadcasts news and programmes that caters for the intellectual, cultural, information and entertainment needs of the Mauritian population.
OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of the MBC are, inter alia, to provide independent and impartial broadcasting services of information, education, culture and entertainment in the different languages spoken or taught in the country and ensure that its broadcasting services help towards the development, of knowledge, sense of initiative, civic rights, duties and responsibilities of the population.
BROADCASTING SERVICES IN MAURITIUS
Radio Channels
The MBC radio services currently consist of:
(a) FM channels: Taal FM, Kool FM, Music FM, Best FM
(b) AM channels: Radio Mauritius, Radio Maurice
Television Channels
The MBC currently broadcasts seventeen (17) television channels on the digital platform as follows:

PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE
The Corporation transmits on a 24-hour basis and provides a platform for local, regional and international news on its channels. The MBC broadcasts its programmes to a socially and culturally diverse audience. In addition to the broadcast of a variety of infotainment and entertainment programmes, the MBC broadcasts diverse local productions. These local productions focus on several areas such as current affairs, culinary, cultural, entertainment and sports fields.
Programmes on television and radio are broadcast in 12 languages, notably French, Creole, English, Hindustani, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujrati, Mandarin/ Cantonese and Hakka.
