It was during a brief meeting between the Holy Father and the Chagossian delegation at the Vatican last Wednesday 07 June 2023. Pope Francis also spoke of the importance of the support of the Mauritian State to the Chagossian people. The delegation was received by Pope Francis, just before his hospitalization.
